Today the world is in
the age of media explosion. The world has become a global
village through the expansion of multy media, especially
after the advent of computer. Although the world has
grown much in mass communication field, it doesn’t
make a conclusion that there is a real and sincere communication
in the world today. By the word ‘real and sincere
communication’ means the warm and healthy interpersonal
relationships among peoples and communities in the world.
In fact, we should doubt that in today’s world
of mass communication and multy media there is only
less communication and therefore less real and sincere
relationships among peoples and communities. The crimes
and wars in today’s world are, to a great extent,
the consequences of this lack of proper communication
and healthy relationships. One of the major objectives
of the multy media is therefore to build up healthy
relationships and good communication between peoples
and communities.
In this context the Church
has a very important and effective role in proclaiming
the Gospel though the mass media. St. Paul says in the
letter to the Romans chapter 10 verse 14 “how
shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed?
And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have
not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?
And how shall they preach unless they are sent?”
Today the mass media has become an effective medium
of evangelization.
I am really happy and
proud to see the beautiful web site of St. Thomas Syro-malabar
church, Qatar with lot of informations regarding St.
Thomas Church in Doha, Qatar, the origin and growth
of the Syro-malabar church in India and other parts
of the world etc. etc.
I take this opportunity
to congratulate and thank all those worked very hard
to make it a reality. All of them have played their
role beautifully well whether it is more or less.
May God Almighty bless
you all.
